Amaya sits just off Lowndes Street, tucked away from the transit-heavy thrum of the surrounding district. It holds one star in the Michelin Guide and currently carries three AA Rosettes.
The kitchen focuses on contemporary Indian grills, but the room’s smart, elegant register sets it apart from the heavy-handed opulence found at many of its peers nearby. While the restaurant is a fifteen-minute walk from Harrods, it manages to feel remarkably detached from the shopping crowds. You choose this place when you want the precision of a Michelin-starred kitchen without the rigid, white-tablecloth atmosphere that defines so much of the high-end dining scene in this part of London. It is a more focused, thoughtful experience than the bustling brasseries that dominate the streets between here and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
