Always wanted to dine in at Alo, finally got the special occasion to book in for dinner with the 6 course tasting menu at the barroom. 5 pm to 7 pm we enjoyed every single course selected for this tasting menu and the amazing cocktail selection. Definitely one of the most memorable experience!

My favourite restaurant in Canada. It’s not easy to grab a reservation here, but it’s absolutely worth the trouble in getting one. The service is seamless, relaxed and attentive. Sitting at the chef counter, we can gauge the focus and sense of urgency in the kitchen. The food arrives quickly and there isn’t much wait in between courses, but you also don’t feel rushed. Every dish is beautifully plated and food is seasoned perfectly for the most part. My favourite dish is prob the caviar dish, king crab with salted egg and the duck was cooked perfectly, prob my fav duck dish in recent memory. However, I wish the A5 WAGYU was more of a composed dish with more thought put into it. I understand that they wanted the beef to stand on its own, but it could’ve be more than just a 3-4 ingredient dish. I was also surprised that there wasn’t a single course with truffles on the menu. I wish there was a pasta dish with truffles instead of the rice dish, which I found to be too big a portion. It made me a bit full with very repetitive bites. The miso dessert didn’t do much for me. I found the all white presentation to be creative, but the flavour profile wasn’t my favourite. Luckily, these things didn’t hinder the experience too much and overall I had a magnificent time and will be back. This time maybe I’ll book during the peak truffle season.

Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing service! We experienced the Bar Testing menu and we were thoroughly impressed. We thought the 6-course menu would be small and we would still want food after, but it was quite filling and we left satisfied. I would definitely want to return to try their dinner menu in the future as each dish on the bar tasting was incredible without a single miss. As we were told, the menu changes quite often, so definitely a place to try multiple times.
