Alemagou is a restaurant on Ftelia Beach in Mykonos that takes inspiration from Cycladic architectural elements such as whitewashed houses, dry-stone walls blended into the scrubby landscape, and hardwearing screed floors. The familiar textures are applied to contemporary organic forms to create this unique character.
When designing the building, architects used natural reed thatch to create an inverted field for a canopy. The upside-down structure creates shade which keeps the interior cool and wind-free. Throughout each day, sunlight filters through creating light while shading from direct sun exposure simultaneously when it's needed most!
At night, the top of The Beach House is illuminated by warm lighting that creates a cozy atmosphere for evening dining. Beneath this canopy lies beautifully screed terraces with lounging areas and an open bar area where guests can enjoy their drinks while watching breathtaking views from above. This design allows natural light to flow through the space as well as provide uninterrupted sights across the beachfront towards sea or sunset.
